What Is an Environmental Product Declaration?

An EPD is not a "green label". It is a transparent, comparable scorecard of a product's environmental performance. It is prepared according to Product Category Rules (PCR), reviewed by an independent verifier and published by a programme operator. An EPD is typically valid for 5 years.

How to Get an EPD

Product and PCR selection: We define the products, the applicable Product Category Rules and the programme operator (The International EPD System, EPD Turkey, IBU, etc.).
Data collection: Raw material, energy, production, packaging and transport data are collected using our templates.
LCA modelling: The life cycle assessment is modelled according to ISO 14040/14044 and EN 15804+A2.
EPD document: We prepare the EPD and the underlying LCA project report.
Third-party verification: We respond to the verifier's questions and make any required revisions.
Publication: The approved EPD is published on the programme operator's platform.
